Sugar/Sweeteners:
- Coconut Sugar

- Maple Syrup

Flour:
- Rice (brown, sweet, regular white)
- Almond
- Coconut

Butter:
- Earth Balance (a popular brand in the United States)
- Vegetable oil (any kind)
- Coconut Oil (in my opinion, this is the best straight across substitute)

Cheese:
- Daiya (a popular brand in the United States. Although Daiya works well and tastes good, I don’t recommend it. I prefer to use whole ingredients whenever possible and avoid pre-made/packaged foods like this, even when they seem to be catering to people who are following healthy diets. When you use whole foods, you know what you’re getting. Additionally, the last time I checked Daiya was adding sugar into their products. I’ve been out of the US for over a year, so I can’t advocate for the legitimacy of this brand, but I felt it was important to include it along with my opinion for those people who are living in or travelling to the United States.)
