Chocolate-Mucuna Brownie Bites

Chocolate brownie bites are perhaps one of my favorite snacks! You can add a lot of nutrients into these guys without compromising on flavor. Chocolate is supposed to make you happy, too, so why not add a dash of Mucuna pruriens powder to make them truly happy, uplifting chocolate brownie bites? Mucuna pruriens is a bean that is a natural source of L-dopa, the precursor to dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for helping you feel happy, fulfilled, focused, and overall balanced. Mucuna and chocolate go wonderfully together, and because this is a raw snack, that means that they have even more nutrient value that you can feel good about.

Chocolate-Mucuna Bites

Ingredients

  • 3 cups walnuts
  • 1/4 cup mucuna powder
  • 1/4 cup flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp monk fruit powder
  • 1 tsp Himalayan pink sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup nut milk (I used almond milk, but you could use any milk)

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in a food processor and pulse to combine at first. Then turn on for about 2-5 minutes, or until the consistency is relatively smooth.
  2. Add more monk fruit if desired, then combine (these are made to be dark-chocolate bites, so some people may prefer more sweetness).
  3. Using a regular cookie scoop, scoop out the "dough", press into the cookie scoop, and then place on a plate. Sprinkle mucuna powder over the top.
  4. Put the bites into the fridge for about 1 hour to allow them to set, then serve chilled.
